Reading Room is a space for deep reading and shared perspectives. At a time when we keep buying books yet rarely find moments for slow, uninterrupted reading, umum hopes to create a quiet environment for reflection and exchange. Our first session focuses on photobooks, a genre that bridges observer and creator. A photobook is both intrusion and reflection, shaped by sequencing, pacing, and materiality. We are honoured to welcome Singapore-based, architecture-trained photographer Fabian Ong, whose new photobook Looking from the Window captures fleeting scenes from around the world. He shared his journey, his process, and the stories behind his images.
